☆ English translation of Urdu poetry couplets of  Ms. Neelam Saxena Chandra # 32☆

❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃

I have the nature of butterfly

Myriad colours reside in me

Always happy without reason

Carefree living is way of life!

❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃

Not aware where am I now

and, which is  this sojourn…

O, Lord! Knoweth not what

missive  are  you  giving…!

❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃

Relations often disintegrate

on  slightest  of  ego  clash

Try  even  a  million  times

They never flourish as before

❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃

What to bond with someone

Nowadays it’s only with God

Since this relationship grew

Friends also look strangers

❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃ ❃

Kept complaining of company

Alas! How lonely was I afore

Moment I wiped out conceit

Had big gathering of friends

English Literature – Poetry ☆ Life is a journey ☆ Ms. Sulakshana Misra

Ms. Sulakshana Misra

☆ Poetry – Life is a journey ☆

Life is a journey that begins with a cry

And ends with the final goodbye.

As I grew up in life

Did I think, why not give, smile a try?

Since then, I moved ahead in life

I celebrated every moment in my life.

In the journey of my life

I had my ups and downs.

When I was up and on cloud nine

I thanked Almighty and smiled.

When I felt low and let down

I bowed to God but never frowned.

I ensured to leave pleasant memories

For people around,

Before I bid my final good-bye.

Because sooner or later,

The final destination is sure to come.

But before that,

I had open arms for everyone

As a sign of hearty welcome.

I made friends, I lost friends

Life showed me alarming trends.

I am adamant about celebrating the journey,

Before it finally ends.

☆ Hypocrisy ☆

Surrounded by the

crowd of masks

I’m perplexingly

standing as a question,

Will I ever reach or not

the real face…

Under the mask of friendship,

hiding the impious enmity…

Under the garb of cordiality

soaring with rancour,

Under  the elixir of words

hiding the vicious poison,

Why does mankind,

fueled by jealousy,

dons the masks?

Keeps the split personalities…

The time he spends in

creating and wearing masks,

That many moments of life

he loses in vain,

Wickedness in every breath

pollutes the very existence…

Friends! Keep the life

pure as Ganges water,

What is there in the hypocrisy…?

English Literature – Poetry ☆ My Mother’s hands ☆ Ms. Sulakshana Misra

Ms. Sulakshana Misra

☆ Poetry – My Mother’s hands ☆

I held her hands

As I learnt to walk.

She had magic in her hands

Which she would always

Transfer to my plate.

I grew up seeing her

Working round the clock.

She was always on her feet

And she tirelessly ensured

That the ends meet.

But, as her age advanced

She had wrinkled skin

All over her face, palm and feet.

Now she holds my hands

And struggles to stand.

She sees the world all over again

Through her diminishing eyesight in vain.

Once, while holding her hands

I felt happy and safe.

Now when she holds my hands

She feels the same.

Though life has come a full circle

But my mother’s hands are

Always raised for me to be blessed.

Ms. Sulakshana Misra

☆ Poetry – The toughest teacher ☆

You pushed my limits

You expanded my horizon

You deepened my potential.

But you always ensured

That I always succeed in my tasks.

You made me walk

On the path to follow my dreams

The hardships gave me, silent screams.

When my efforts yielded results

And my heart swelled with pride.

You pulled my strings in time.

You made me realise

That I can not take life for a free ride.

You gave me tears,

But at times

You also pampered me with smiles.

You have taught me the lessons

In the hardest way

O dear life ! You are a teacher

To whom I can never repay.

☆ Germination .. ☆

Crooked circumstances

asked fretfully,

I’ve shattered apart

your existence,

Nevertheless,

Why doesn’t

your courage ever break…??

Why is that your

hope never fades away..??

Why not…!!

I kept staring intently

at the germinating sprout

rising from the ruins

of the demolished building,

Crookedness paled

embarrassingly,

Circumstances fled away

like a thrashed army!
