When the cat kills, our emotions sway,

With different views, for different prey

*

When it kills pet parrot, a prized friend,

Its death brings a rage that will not end

*

But when it kills a deadly menacing rat,

We feel pleasurable relief, a different fact

*

Our attachments shape our deep insight,

Biases guide our changed emotions’ might

*

Desires are born out of preposterous plight,

Perceived waves lead us to pseudo delight

*

We react with ecstatic joy or utter disdain,

Governed by our fancied prejudiced pain

*

Still we do strive to indulge in love to dare,

With good Karma sown, and faith we share

*

Yet results may vary with unexpected delay,

But perseverance blooms, come what may

In the life’s rosy garden, I once felt lost and late,

A bloom delayed, or so it seemed to the fate

But time, a gentle giant, keeps revealing its truth,

That aging, like old wine, brings its tipsy youth

 *

I was so entwined in others’ expectations’ snare,

A tangled mess of what they thought I’d share

But then I stepped back, ceased the forced pace,

And became the gardener of my own sacred place

 *

With gentle hands, I kept plucking the weeds of fear,

Pruned doubts that shadowed my soul’s clear mirror

As sunlight poured in, the tranquility began to unfold,

And the petals of growth burst forth, young and bold

 *

The issue wasn’t growth, but blocks that stood tall,

Fears, doubts, and expectations that would not fall

But once removed, the garden bloomed with glee,

A vibrant display of life enveloped, as all worries flee

Erasing the ever ephemeral present,

Leaving the memories etched on the soul

like indelible scars refusing to heal, forever…

In the unfathomable depths of our being,

a fading ember of the past still glows,

A beacon of longing that refuses to be

extinguished by the passage of time…

*

Fragile, fleeting memories cling to the life,

desperate to evade the abyss of forgetfulness,

Yet time’s relentless tide wears them down,

grinding them into the quicksand of oblivion…

Still, we cherish these tattered remnants,

treasuring the love, laughter, and tears they hold,

For in their fragile beauty, we find solace,

a testament to the human heart’s capacity

Merging with the crowd, but never drifting apart,

Their criticisms, can never deter my sanguine heart

My path is my duty, my journey my sacred creed,

Undaunted by praise or blame, even if I bleed

Entranced by the odyssey, I just walk, unhindered

A traveller focused on the destination, undeterred

For me, journey’s goal, is to reach its fruitful end,

I follow the path, steadfast, unfazed but contend

*

My mantra echoes in “Karmanye vadhikaraste’s” tone

I’m detached, my spirit finds its sacred space, alone

The path unfolds its splendor, a journey to ascend,

Embracing each step, as heart and soul transcend

* “Karmanye Vadhikaraste” is a Sanskrit phrase from the Bhagavad Gita, meaning: “Your right is to perform your duty only, but never on the fruit of work.”
