Ms Neelam Saxena Chandra

☆Book Recitation of Neelam Saxena Chandra’s latest book, by Literary Warrior group in association with NCPA ☆

An amazing surreal experience at one of the finest temples of arts NCPA is worth more than what my humble pen can scribe. The event began with the book reading of “Moh se Bandhi Mei” the latest addition to the ever-growing list of Neelam Saxena Chandra’s book of poetries.

Neelam is the recipient of Sohanlal Dwivedi Purashkar for children’s literature by Maharashtra State Hindi Sahitya Akedeni, Premchand award by Ministry of Railways, Freedom award by Radio City for Lyrics. Forbes has recognised her as one among the 78 most popular authors in the country.

It was amazing to hear Neelam Saxena Chandra reciting her poem from her latest popular book. The chief guest of honour Mr Pramod Aggarwal, Chief Commissioner Income Tax, superbly appreciated Neelam and the collective Literary Warrior Group, for an exemplary effort of awakening the society through words. He was in awe of poetry as a perfect medium of expression that surpassed prose. He too rendered two poems with panache showcasing his own deep interest in literature. The sentiment was echoed by Mr Karkare , the Director – Legal and Special Projects, NCPA .

The event was wonderfully moderated by Sujata Jadhav from NCPA. Literary Warrior poets a global initiative by Neelam Saxena during Covid times, a beacon of hope finding solace in words was represented by Anoop Pandey (Mumbai), Sunil Joshi (Pune), Anup Jalan (Mumbai), Purna Parekh (Mumbai), Pooja Dhadiwal (Nagpur) Mani Saxena (Mumbai), Shiv Nath Sharma (Mumbai) and Meera Bhansali (Mumbai).

Meera Bhansali anchored the bilingual poetry recital part of the event introducing the poets to the audience. The poem by Anoop had the flavour of Mithila and of the puranic kathas showcasing flair in Hindi verse. Sunil’s poetry set the stage for light romance while Anup’s poetry thundering with melodious effect showcased rain, while Purna’s poem on love drenched all in its warm feelings. Pooja’s poetry on life expressed a holistic desire to live, while Shiv Nath’s poems evoked strong nostalgia to the old memories of father and his Basta. Mani’s poem on environmental issues gave a food for thought, while Meera’s poem had the audience falling in love with the Sun.

The stage moved from poetry to the mesmerising world of music and dance. AMNA’s Arpana Roa and Nandita N.G. enthralled the audience to perfect, graceful dance on the pre-recorded poems voiced by Neelam herself. This experience was like a dream where the art forms of poetry, music and dance came together giving an apt crescendo to the enchanting, fanciful experience. It was overall a perfect evening by the sea at NCPA. With this successful poetry reading, Team Literary Warrior has once again proved its prowess in hosting offline events. The amazing audience reacting in appreciative and motivational claps was the cherry on the proverbial cake.
