Captain Pravin Raghuvanshi —an ex Naval Officer, possesses a multifaceted personality. Presently, he is serving as Senior Advisor in prestigious Supercomputer organisation C-DAC, Pune. He is involved in various Artificial Intelligence and High-Performance Computing projects of national and international repute. He has got a long experience in the field of ‘Natural Language Processing’, especially, in the domain of Machine Translation. He has taken the mantle of translating the timeless beauties of Indian literature upon himself so that it reaches across the globe. He has also undertaken translation work for Shri Narendra Modi, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, which was highly appreciated by him. He is also a member of ‘Bombay Film Writer Association’.

Captain Raghuvanshi is also a littérateur par excellence. He is a prolific writer, poet and ‘Shayar’ himself and participates in literature fests and ‘Mushayaras’. He keeps participating in various language & literature fests, symposiums and workshops etc. Recently, he played an active role in the ‘International Hindi Conference’ at New Delhi.  He presided over the “Session Focused on Language and Translation” and also presented a research paper.  The conference was organized by Delhi University in collaboration with New York University and Columbia University.

Truth  doesn’t  even

have the manner to talk

Just look at the  lie,

how sweetly it talks…

हम तो फूलों की तरह,

अपनी आदत से बेबस हैं

तोड़ने वाले को भी,

खुशबू की सजा देते हैं…

Helpless with the habit,

Like the flowers, I even

penalise the pluckers

With the fragrance only…!

मैंने देखी-

बालकनी की रेलिंग पर लटकी

खूबसूरती के नए एंगल बनाती औरत,

मैंने देखी-

धोबीघाट पर पानी की लय के साथ

यौवन निचोड़ती औरत,

मैंने देखी-

कच्ची रस्सी पर संतुलन साधती

साँचेदार खट्टी-मीठी औरत,

मैंने देखी-

चूल्हे की आँच में

माथे पर चमकते मोती संवारती औरत,

मैंने देखी फलों की टोकरी उठाए

सौंदर्य के प्रतिमान लुटाती औरत,

अलग-अलग किस्से,

अलग-अलग चर्चे,

औरत के लिए राग एकता के साथ

सबने सचमुच देखी थी ऐसी औरत,

बस नहीं दिखी थी उनको-

रेलिंग पर लटककर छत बुहारती औरत,

धोबीघाट पर मोगरी के बल पर

कपड़े फटकारती औरत,

रस्सी पर खड़े हो अपने बच्चों की भूख को ललकारती औरत,

गूँदती-बेलती-पकाती

पसीने से झिजती

पर रोटी खिलाती औरत,

सिर पर उठाकर बोझ

गृहस्थी का जिम्मा बँटाती औरत,

शायद हाथी और अंधों की

कहानी की तर्ज़ पर

सबने देखी अपनी सुविधा से

थोड़ी-थोड़ी औरत,

अफ़सोस किसीने नहीं देखी

एक बार में

पूरी की पूरी औरत..!

I saw—

A woman hanging on a tall building,

dangling on parapet,

defining the new angles of beauty;

I saw—

A luscious youthful washerwoman,

melodiously playing in harmony with the water,

wrenching the clothes of juvenescence;

I saw—

A voluptuous juggling woman,

Balancing on a precarious rope,

in midst of drums and trumpets;

I saw—

A woman —the glistening demoiselle,

Radiating with glowing charm,

Blowing the hearth, crowned with sweat-pearls;

I saw—

A risque enticing-woman

carrying fruit-laden basket

with a swaggering gait;

Each one saw with, different angles,

Myriad reflections, varied perceptions,

wild views, incongruous sense

of woman’s enchanting beauty

and feminine expressions;

Alas! No one saw—

The enigmatic woman’s struggle for survival,

Sweeping the parapet, hanging perilously,

Washing the clothes, in blazing sun,

Balancing on ghastly rope;

Kneading-rolling-cooking, toiling,

drenched with perspiration,

Challenging the hunger of deprived children,

Sharing the onus of livelihood;

Day and night,

Fighting the poverty of being

unwanted, unloved and uncared!!

May be,

in consonance with

‘Blind men and Elephant’ parable,

Each one saw,

with own perception,

with own convenience,

But, only a fraction of woman;

Alas!

Each one failed to see the complete woman!!

But, yet again

the same perennial

silence only…

Escape from the truth,

Rules of foreordination,

Proximity to the destination,

Encounter with the rigours of destiny…

Accounts of the Karmas,

Desire of the deathlessness, immortality or eternity…

The cycle of ‘Birth-and-Death’

Or merging with the finality…

Infiniteness of the universe

Unanswered questions

क्या है जीवन की सार्थकता

क्या है अस्तित्व का महासंग्राम

क्या है इसका स्पष्टीकरण

क्या है इसकी पूरकता

परंतु निरंतर मिलती है

निरुत्तरता ही निरुत्तरता…

सत्य से पलायन सम्भव नहीं

प्रारब्ध के नियम रहते सतत गतिमान

गंतव्य की निकटता हो

या नियति से भेंट,

परंतु यहाँ भी वही अवरोध:

कर्मफलों का लेखा-जोखा

फिर भी निरंतर चाह

अजरता, अमरता और अमृत्व की…

चिरकालिक प्रश्न:

जन्म-मृत्यु चक्र का फेर

या सम्पूर्णता में विलीनता

या ब्रह्मांड की अनंतता

रहते हमेशा ही अनुत्तरित…

हाशिये पर हैं अब वो सारे रिश्ते

जिन पर कभी हमको गुमान था

बपौती है उनकी मेरी ज़िंदगी

उन्हें इस बात का इत्मीनान था..

हैं इतनी तल्खियॉं अब दरम्यान

कि मानो पुश्तैनी अदावत हो

है आजकल मंजर कुछ ऐसा

मानो खुद की खुद से बगावत हो..

उनकी हैं रवायतें कुछ ऐसी कि

उन्हें तकरार से भी गुरेज़ नही

कीमत चाहे कुछ भी चुकानी पड़े

उन्हें इस बात से कतई परहेज़ नही…

अपनी हुकूमत अपने अख़्तियार के

वो अब बेइन्तिहा नशे में चूर हैं

 All the grand relationships

That we were proud of

are marginalized now…

Although, he considered my life

as his personalized sole property…

There is mountain of  lasting

bitterness now, as if ancestral

family feud  has  been waged

My state, these days, is as if  I’m

a mutinous rebellion to my ownself …

He has some customary habits

Of not even bothering to squabble

No matter what price we have to pay

He’d never be concerned at all…

Conceitedly,  ever insolent,

He runs his self-rulings openly, 

Always imposing own authority,

beastly free own-will, arbitrarily…

All  my  rosy  dreams are

summarily shattered now

He has got a long experience in the field of ‘Natural Language Processing’, especially, in the domain of Machine Translation. He has taken the mantle of translating the timeless beauties of Indian literature upon himself so that it reaches across the globe. He has also undertaken translation work for Shri Narendra Modi, the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, which was highly appreciated by him. He is also a member of ‘Bombay Film Writer Association’.

Captain Raghuvanshi is also a littérateur par excellence. He is a prolific writer, poet and ‘Shayar’ himself and participates in literature fests and ‘Mushayaras’. He keeps participating in various language & literature fests, symposiums and workshops etc. Recently, he played an active role in the ‘International Hindi Conference’ at New Delhi.  He presided over the “Session Focused on Language and Translation” and also presented a research paper.  The conference was organized by Delhi University in collaboration with New York University and Columbia University.

In his naval career, he was qualified to command all types of warships. He is also an aviator and a Sea Diver; and recipient of various awards including ‘Nao Sena Medal’ by the President of India, Prime Minister Award and C-in-C Commendation.

Captain Pravin Raghuvanshi is also an IIM Ahmedabad alumnus.

His latest quest involves social media, which is filled with rich anonymous literature of nameless writers, shared on different platforms, like,  WhatsApp / Facebook / Twitter / Your quotes / Instagram etc in Hindi and Urdu, he has taken the mantle of translating them as a mission for the enjoyment of the global readers. भरोसा जितना कीमती होता जाता है

धोखा भी उतना ही महंगा हो जाता है

ईमानदारी का दाम भला कौन जाने

यहाँ हर बेईमान शहंशाह बना जाता है

More the trust intensifies

Costlier becomes the betrayal

Who cares the honesty here

Cheats only rules the roost…..!

बहुत कुछ बदल जाता है

बढ़ती उम्र के साथ,

पहले हम ‘ज़िद‘  किया करते थे,

अब ‘समझौते‘….

A  lot  changes…

With  the  growing  age,

Earlier I’d demand stubbornly

Now just the compromises!

Knoweth not,

silence is ubiquitously all-encompassing…!
