Bewildering Interrogation ?

My heart writhes in a

deep anguish for you…

My hairs have turned grey

at  such  a tender  age…

*

He started crying looking

at my pitiable predicament

As if he’d come to perform

last rites of someone dear…

*

Give me your sole custody

just  once for a keepsake

I will  spend  rest  of  my

life  taking  care  of you…

*

I know this but I can’t really

believe that you aren’t mine

But I’m perpetually immersed

in  your  thoughts only…

*

He  left murmuring  sotto voce

raising the intriguing inquiry

I’m still trying to figure out

his bewildering interrogation..!

☆ Encounter with the Life ?

Yesterday only I saw a

glimpse of the dear life,

Humming along with me

on a desolate country road..!

*

Smiling-winking, she kept

playing hide and seek…

Caressed me, consoled me

Tried to put me at ease..!

*

I asked, why are we both

angry with each other?

I was explaining to her

and she to me, spiritedly…

*

Why d’you give me pains galore,

Replied she, “I’m life, you fool!

I was preparing and teaching you

the ways to negotiate with your life..!”

English Literature – Poetry ☆ The Grey Lights# 39 – “Colosseum” ☆ Shri Ashish Mulay ☆

Shri Ashish Mulay

? The Grey Lights# 39 ?

☆ – “Colosseum” – ☆ Shri Ashish Mulay

like a beautiful flower

falling of a branch

landed on the clay

they call worlds play

for them you are spectator

and for you they are

here comes the nervousness

they call consciousness

and in this brief moment

ride rattling stories

under their hooves

they chain your glories

but you will have to play

play with the chains

and embrace this clay

to embrace the way

all they want is spectacle

so be your own spectator

dead walls need a sparkle

be the player extraordinaire

set your priority not others

but your own chains

brilliant a game when you

are free and them in chains

and even if you die then

it won’t go in vein

walks out a free man

not sent or carried from

play here in this colosseum

find strength in your cheer

of this really yours arena

be your own Gladiator…

English Literature – Poetry ☆ Common Man… ☆ Hemant Bawankar ☆

Common Man… ☆ Hemant Bawankar ☆

‘Time’

heals

big wounds.

Today,

RK Laxman’s

symbol of a “common man”

stands watching

speechless

in Symbiosis campus

passing through

the cycle of time.

Searching its existence

in the aging cartoons

on which

settling,

the dust of time.

Whether

like the other cartoon characters

in the world,

his fate

was limited

up to this?

Up to his

creator’s journey

to heaven?

No …. No.

He wriggles everyday

when falls on him

first rays of the sun

to

the last rays of the sun

and

all night in the pitch-black darkness.

He is eager

for lodging

his presence

in

current topics

socio-political scenario

national and international scenario

the relevant compositions

in cartoons

in poems

in satire

and even in occasional columns

as always

only by staying neutral

like a ‘common man’

One says

‘time’

heals

big wounds.

Adorable Life… ?

O’ dear life, my cherished

venerated obeisance to you

For what you have abundantly

bestowed me with…!

*

I accept your gratification

with all my humility…

May be, we’ll not meet again

tomorrow or ever after…!

*

O’ life, let me express my profuse

indebtedness to you…

Thank you for every breath,

every dream you realised…!

*

Thank you for inundating me

with the aspirations galore,

Thank you for everything you

ever materialised for me…!

*

Your luminous aura filled the

life with the bright sunshine,

Your merciful rains soddened

my lands for tilling…!

*

Thanks for lending your hand

that always firmly held me…

Guided me every time through the

vagaries of merciless times..!

*

Thank you, life, once again!

But then who knows, maybe

Tomorrow itself we may meet

in a chance encounter…!

☆ Maverick Prince… ?

He is a celestial fragrance,

will get scattered in the wind

The matter of concern is of

the flower, where will it go…

*

Just thought it to be a normal

wound that will heal itself

Who knew that it would spread

in every speck of my existence…

*

He keeps wandering around like

a maverick nomad only

Like a passing free-will breeze,

He too will come and go away

*

Whenever he visits me, seasons

of the blossoming spring

descends in my courtyard

Giving him a rousing welcome…

*

After all she too must be waiting

on the sand dune somewhere

His love is the river, that’ll flow

there to quench her eternal thirst..!

☆ Unconditional Love ?

If someone asks me the

reason for loving you,

so passionately;

Then what should I say

Since I loved you

without any reason…

*

Fragmented dreams,

Incomplete love,

Half-done worship,

Yes! You are mine,

But, not completely mine

O’ Lord! What kind

of mystifying life is this..!

Corporal Mutilation ?

When the branches were laden with the fruits,

Alas! There were no stones to pluck…

When the stones were found lying around,

there were no fruits left on the trees..!

*

They kept throwing the mired scum

at their very own honourable people…

Wasn’t there any amicable solution

to the matter of impassioned heart..?

*

Abrogation of execution of an innocent

was not in the control of the wise ones…

As the frenzied mob had taken over the

proceedings with the utmost disregard..!

*

What an excruciating pain kept

pouring down all night long…

Never had this much of agonizing dust

gathered on my face, even in the past..!

☆ Inside Me… ?

Knoweth not how many

souls reside inside me

But really puzzlingly wonder

where has mine gone…

*

I only desired my wounds

could heal in quickly

But I got filled in with

countless more wounds only…

*

I was a moment only that

consumed many a millennia

Though I’ve been witnessing

epochs passing through me…

*

Just a few traces of me

is only left inside me

Since it’s mostly you,

Who’s buried inside me!

*Jaichand…the worst traitor of the known human history of India…
